The City of Edinburgh Horse Show


The 2018 City of Edinburgh Horse Show will take place on Sunday 13th May.


Edinburgh’s prestigious horse show took place at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre on

Sunday 30th April 2017.

SCOTTISH TILTING RIDING CLUB – Sponsor of Riding Club Horse

The Scottish Tilting Riding Club are based in East Lothian and train at Rockrose Equestrian Centre on a regular basis with lots of tilting, dressage and showjumping competitions amongst various training and social events.

The ancient competitive sport of Tilting originated in Medieval times, when Jousting tournaments were held regularly all over Europe.  Anyone with a lance and a horse capable of cantering in a straight line could take part in tilting!  Tilting tournaments took place early on in the tournaments, where a rider would canter down the ’tilt’ and thread a small ring suspended from the gallows on to the end of their lance to demonstrate their accuracy and skill.  The rings become progressively smaller until only one winner remains.
